The tightness test of the cable harness is different from the usual pipe test. Due to the soft appearance of the cable harness, the connection of the general pipe fittings will be unstable, resulting in inaccurate test results. The use of cable harnesses depends on the power environment and safety requirements. It needs to be used outdoors in rainy days and in humid environments, and it needs to meet important performance requirements such as waterproof sealing. Therefore, the cable harness needs to be tested for airtightness, especially the electrical safety of new energy vehicles. The whole part of the wiring harness may leak due to process errors, wear and tear during production and transportation. Once the unqualified wiring harness is used, it is easy to cause leakage and short circuit in rainy days, causing harm.
When the cable harness is tested for sealing, the open end of the harness needs to be blocked to form an effective sealing space inside the cable and at the other end.
The general principle is to block one end and pressurize it from the other end, and then do the corresponding leak detection. When using the quick-seal connector, first return the "wrench" to parallel with the connector body, and then insert the cable straight into the connector. Since the wire harness material is softer and requires a larger sealing connection surface, the wire harness needs to be inserted deep inside the connector. Then bend the "wrench" so that it is perpendicular to the joint body, that is, a seal is formed, and the seal test can be carried out. After the test is complete, pull the handle back to break the seal and pull out the cable.
